This post is really late.
But it's becauseI wanted to finish Mikeneko first, I've been busy my actual occupation is procrastinating (well, actually the first two options are true too: I still need to finish Mikeneko and I've been busy first with uni, now with subs)
Anyway.
Even if I'm late, I want to write something about last season, because I really liked it. Winter season wasn't good at all (the only nice drama was 13-sai no Hello Work, but it was still nothing marvellous), but this one was a lot better.
I watched
-Legal High
-Mikeneko Holmes no Suiri
-Kagi no Kakatta Heya
-Papadol!
(and I would like to watch W no Higeki and Mirai Nikki too)
Legal High was definitely the best drama of this season.
At the beginning I wasn't sure if I should give the first episode a chance, and I actually watched it only because it was the only one already subbed XD But after watching the first ep... I was in love. This drama is awesome, really.
The main character, Komikado (played by a perfect sakai Masato) was a wonderful character: hateful, evil, that would probably do anything for the sake of money and thinks that a lawyer's job is to win, even if his client is the worst criminal on the planet (and this is so true). Maybe at first you may think that, ok, he says funny things and he's a peculiar man, but the drama shows his past, his reasons, his background, and somehow he seems a bit more human.
And this is one of the good things of this drama: it's episodical, yes, but there's a guide line that links all the episodes, and we can see how the characters grow.
The characters were all good (and the actors absolutely wonderful), but my favourite was definitely Komikado. Maybe it's because I study Law and when I was little I wanted to become a lawyer, but I was really charmed by him. Now I don't aim to be a lawyer, but if I'd ever become one, I would like to be like him. He and the drama have been somehow inspiring, for me.
But, even if you aren't interested in lawyers and law related things, I really suggest you to try it, because it's GOOD.
Mikeneko. Now, I still have to watch the last two episodes, but I can already say that I liked it. I read many bad comments about it, and they were mostly about Aiba's acting: all I can say is that Aiba is a good actor, when he's given the opportunity; in My Girl and his last butai he's been wonderful really. So, people shouldn't judge him for only one drama.
I'm not saying that he's a wonderful actor, because... no. He isn't. But, talking about Arashi, I think that, when he has a decent script, he's a lot better than Sho and Jun, which are actors loved by everyone (and I still don't understand the reason o.o)
I think that in Mikeneko he didn't show all his potential.
Anyway, the drama was cute; I mean, a cute and stupid detective going around with his cute and bitchy cat and his cute troll colleague.
Honestly, the storyline was pretty plain, though it was better than most of the detective dramas I've watched: at least it was funny, the characters were particular and Yoshitaro grew, douring the drama (oh, and Ishizu too). But I liked it for my personal reasons.
Can you understand my happiness? A whole drama with my favourite memebers of Arashi and Kanjani, which are my favourite groups. Two of my favourite guys ever. My dear ichibans. I've never even dreamed about an Aiba/Ohkura collaboration, and now I have the excuse to ship them together and write fanfiction about them.
This drama made me happy.
And, Tatsu. Good job, my dear, GOOD JOB. I've been in love with Ishizu since his first appearance.
KagiHeya. Even if it's been declared the best drama of the season, it isn't my favourite.
It was good, the basic idea was brilliant, Serizawa-san made me laugh a lot, Aoto was pretty useless, and Enomoto was... wonderful (and Riida... oh, Riida. You're awesome): brilliant, clever, mysterious and... terribly awkward. And this is why I liked this character so much.
BUT.
All the episodes were almost the same, and at the end we don't know nothing more about Enomoto: we suspect something, but we can't be sure of anything. And the worst thing is that on the original novel Enomoto's character is completely revealed, and we know that he's a super rich thief. So... WHY?
It's like kageyama from Nazotoki: there's definitely something more, behind, but they don't tell us what it is.
This is why the ending disapponted me; this drama could have been a lot better.
Papadol.
Eheh. Here we go.
Probably, this opinion will be really unpopular, among many of my lj friends ^^''
Let's first say that the basic idea was good, really good; it could have been a really interesting drama.
But it wasn't.
There are SO MANY wrong things O_O
First, it was so predictable that I watched it all without subs understanding it almost perfectly O______O
The relationship between Ryo and 'Haru-chan' was... cold. Fake. Feelingless. There was more chemistry between Ryo and Mei or Yokomaru and their sweets (see 5th ep).
Ryo wasn't Ryo. Ok, I don't know him personally, I know only what they want me to, but still... no. Just no. And they made it like, before the meeting with Haruka, there wasn't anything, in his life: no friends, no passions, he's only a poor, lonely, good guy. WTF
Then, this drama's purpose was, obviously, promoting Kanjani. But... you don't promote a group only putting its posters/merchandise/albums anywhere. No. It's like... they didn't emphasized their good points. The fact that they are hardworking. That they're stupid, a lot. That they're so not idol-like. And their strong bond. I'm confident that no one of them, in real life, would act like Ryo in the drama.
And I hated all the Arashi jokes and the endless comparison between Arashi and Kanjani. Because, first of all, Eito have always been treated in a different way, and there's no really need to remark it; and also because there's already a fandom war, and I hate it.
So, yeah.
It was like reading a fanfiction... a badly written one.
I was tempted to put Papadol in my black list with Hidarime Tantei EYE and few other horrible things that shouldn't be called dramas, but, actually, it wasn't as bad as those.
I mean, there were Eito acting all together, and Ryo is a really good actor (even with a lame script), so... these two are the only reasons XD
Oh, another thing. Douring spring I watched a Korean drama which aired... in 2010 or 2011, I'm not sure. Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Not let the impossible title terrify you, and give it a try, because it was WONDERFUL. I toally loved it and I could rewatch it again and again. It's like Secret Garden and You're Beautiful: even if you aren't a Kdramas fan, you'll love it
About this season... I finished my exams at the end of last week, so I only managed to watch the first episode of GTO, Boys on the Run and Rich Man Poor Woman. So far, I like them all (and I still have to watch Beginners ç_ç)
Now I'll go back subbing Mikeneko >.<
Bye~
But it's because
