This comes super late, but I don't have that much to say when I don't have anything to complain about XD
First Kanjani8's original album after the 8th anniversary, JUKE BOX contains different music genres and is basically flawless.
There are 3 versions: the RE with 2 unit songs and a bonus song, Takoyaki in my Heart ver. and BBQ ver. They're all super nice with nice special features and nice photobooks and I don't know how I choose wich one to buy (I'm lying, I know)
Takoyaki in my Heart: what is this if not absolute perfection?? Seriously. We couldn't expect nothing less by a song called 'Takoyaki in my Heart', could we? Perfect from the first to the last note, from the first to the last word, it's so Kanjani, it's an hymn to Osaka, it's p e r f e c t. That's all. With censored Subaru, Maru's gags, Ryo and his mayo, Hina and money ♥ And the PV!!! It's silly, funny, cheerful and at the same time a bit touching, with chibi Eito dressed as Eito Rangers, 8Uppers ;___;
Rescue Rescue: I liked it at the first listening, but after that I haven't listened to it for a long time O_O Now I'm listening to it again O_O It's nice, even with that slightly awkward rap, and the bit between the rap and the refrain is ♥ I could have done without the autotune after the 2nd refrain, but after that there's Ohkura singing with his low register so ggggghhhhh what is autotune.
Sorry Sorry Love: the abuse of autotune is strong here, and, at first, outraged me. But then I listened to it once, twice and... I couldn't lie to myself guys. I LOVE IT. It's so damn catchy and has a nice rythm. And actually autotune can be ok with some songs so...
Seishun Nostalgia: don't ask me why, but after the 1st listening it didn't say me anything, so I've spent like 2 weeks ignoring it. The one day I listened to it once again and "Why in the world I didn't like this???". It's beautiful.
Yuyami Train: confession time: since the album has been released I've listened to this maybe... 5 times? I don't why because it's quite nice. Nothing spectacular, but I really like some parts (the bit before the refrain!).
Kurage: of course I associate this song with the BBQ video so ♥ The sand, the sea, soft skin finally free, Subaru with his Speedo, fireworks, the little turtle awwwww ♥♥♥ The song is super nice and is very summer-ish *_*
Dear Summer sama!!: the refrain is nice, but the rest is a bit...? Not bad but I rarely listen to it.
Kitakaze Blues: sexy. That's all. Don't ask me why, but I find it sexy. The melody? Their voices? Sexy and classy.
Anata E: T_____T CAN YOU IMAGINE THE LIVE PERFORMANCE?? Beautiful T___T
Your Wurlitzer: ok am I the only one who thinks this should have been the 1st song of the album? Because it's like an opening. Short, asking "tonight what should i make you listen to" and since tha album title is JUKE BOX... I don't, it should have been the first one.
West Side!!: love at the first listening *___* It's all beautiful, but the refrain is SPECTACULAR and the live must be awesome!!
BEAST!! (Hina-Maru-Ryo): the most improbable unit, I wasn't expecting anything great, THEN!!! The song is super nice and... for some reason at the live they get naked O_O I don't know O_O And when at the end they shout the names of 'true men' LMAO.
Kari (kari) (Yoko-Subaru-Yasu-Ohkura): after the first seconds I was like "what. the.hell.", then I listened yo the whole thing and... I still was "what.the.hell." It0s totally CRAZY. Crazy crazy crazy. But in a brilliant way. Seriously.
All is Well: aaaaaaaand, last but not least... BAM, THE BEST SONG OF THE ALBUM. BOW TO THIS SONG. IT'S LOVELY, PERFECT, EVERYTHING. AND IT'S SO FULL OF LOVE IT MAKES ME EMOTIONALE T_T I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS FOR THIS SONG OKAY? DON'T ASK WHICH IS MY FAVE PART BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING IS GOOD T____T (sorry)
I've already talked about the singles: Aoppana is flawless, now I like Koko ni Shikanai Keshiki more than Hesomagari (it's boring me a bit), and Namida no Kotae is still nothing great (best parts of the single were the PV and Bansou, wich is PERFECT)
I know, this isn't long, but I really like this album. It's solid and not boring at all, while listening to it maybe I skip only one song.
And, generally speaking, do you know what I like about Eito's albums? First of all, if you pay more for the LE, there's actually something different from the cheaper RE, not only few more pics (yes I'm comparing them to Arashi because a)I'm upset about their albums and b) I can. And this time the excuse "but Arashi are more popular" doesn't work, because their albums have always been like that). Anyway, there's always a REAL photobook (lately 2, because there are 2 LEs), and DVD with special contents. So that I feel like I'm spending money for something.
AND I like how they're always so involved. I'm not talking about writing songs, because that's not a thing that anyone can do. I'm talking about coming up with something everytime. That freaking short movie for Zukkoke Daidassou, the Dokkiri/documentary for PUZZLE, A WHOLE MOVIE for 8Uppers (don't make me start rambling about 8Uppers because it was so well promoted and they started giving us hints like months before), they drew their uniforms for FIGH and made a video for us to see how, and this time they went on a BBQ date and made us see how the 2 units were formed. (acually there's always a lot more in their albums/DVDs, a lot of behind the scenes).
We always get something, we see a part of what's behind the music -or what they want us to see- and it's good. It's beautiful.
